Nativity for children v2 (4)

Like last year we are having our amazing Christmas Eve Nativity for Children and we would love to see you if you can make it.

The puppets will there to tell us the story of the first Christmas while we sit on straw bales. We have some crafts to make and some yummy festive food to eat. It is a wonderful chance to start the celebrations in a way that your children will love.

It all begins 4pm at St Ives Methodist Church and will last about 45 minutes. If you are feeling creative then you might want to come dressed as your favourite nativity character.

If you can make then see you there, if not have a wonderful Christmas wherever you are!

17th December Cafe Service

Hello Everyone,

We just wanted to let you know that it is café this coming Sunday at 10.30am.

I am sure you are busy with Christmas preparations but we would love to make you coffee and give you a bit of space to think about this wonderful time of year. To help us think about why we are celebrating we will be making Christingles (picture attached).

Drinks are served from 10am so join us anytime from then, and even if you are running late we’d still love to see you and you probably won’t be the last. We will be chatting around tables, singing some songs (if you fancy it) and making our Christingles.

If you can’t make it we hope you have a wonderful time wherever you are and we’d love to see you at the other Christmas events we have over the next week as the big day approaches.

171210 breathe contrastIt would lovely to see you at breathe this Sunday evening. In the midst of the busyness of Christmas preparations breathe will be its normal quiet, reflective place with no demands or to do lists. Just space to think and contemplate the meaning of life and faith.

We will be exploring the ideas of contrast between light and dark, and the significance of darkness in seeing the power of light. Our time together will be a mixture silence and simple chants, video and image, scripture and reflection, ritual and prayer.

We will be in St Ives Methodist Church hall, it all begins at 7.30pm and will last about an hour. We have drinks and some cake afterward if you can stay but understand if you need leave straightaway.

If you can come great but if you are elsewhere then we hope you have a wonderful Advent and Christmas.
